This canary is a plain-text statement. Cryptographic signing of canary
updates may be added later; until then, treat GitHub commit history and
this hosted file as the source of truth.

As of the publication date above, VeritasVPN states that:

1. We have not received a National Security Letter, FISA order, or any
   comparable secret legal order requiring us to disclose user data or
   modify VeritasVPN infrastructure in a way we cannot publicly describe.

2. We have not been served with a gag order that would prevent us from
   discussing a government demand for user data related to VeritasVPN.

3. We have not been compelled to place backdoors, weaken cryptography, or
   otherwise subvert the WireGuard or authentication systems we operate.

4. We have not secretly handed over encryption keys, WireGuard private
   keys, JWT signing secrets, or database dumps under sealed process that
   we are forbidden from disclosing.

If this file is not updated by the “Next expected update” date above, treat
that silence as a potential warning and verify the repository / site for
explanation.

Honest scope note

VeritasVPN is an early-stage service. Operational systems may store
account identifiers, authentication tokens, billing records, and WireGuard
peer metadata as described in our Privacy Policy. This canary is about
secret legal compulsion — it is not a claim that we store zero operational
data.
